Ashapurni Mandir is an ancient temple in Pathankot, popular with devotees who throng the temple to pay their respect to the goddess. It is open every day from dawn to dusk, is very accessible and can be visited at any time of the year. It is said that Mata Ashapurni is very powerful and fulfills all wishes of her followers. Kanya Pooja is held daily and free meals are offered to all visitors at Ashapurni Mandir. The temple reverberates with the sounds of mantras and holy chants, which soothe and rejuvenate the mind. The main festival celebrated here is the Navratra Mahotsav, during which time the temple is gloriously dressed up and particularly worth a visit.
Kathlour Kushlian Wildlife Sanctuary
A safe haven for a number of species, this wildlife sanctuary Is home to deer, porcupine, pangolin, chital, sambhar, hog deer, barking deer, black partridge, grey partridge, python, spotted owlet, parakeet (rose ringed), White humped vulture and more. You can see the wildlife in its natural habitat with minimal interference. To protect the natural space the sanctuary is divided into 3 zones- eco-sensitive, buffer and the core zone. Visitors are allowed in the eco-sensitive zone. The main refuge of wildlife is the core zone which is a protected zone. Enjoy a tour on an 11-seater improvised golf cart or take a trek on foot or bicycle via the 5-km long nature trail.
Gurdwara Shri Barth Sahib
Gurdwara Shri Barth Sahib is located in Barth, a village 8 km from Pathankot. Baba Sri Chand, the elder son of Guru Nanak, chose to become a recluse. His hermitage at Barth became the centre of the Udasi sect he had founded. Gurus respected him for his spiritual eminence. Guru Arjan and Guru Hargobind came here especially to meet him. During Guru Hargobind’s visit, Baba Sri Chand nominated Baba Gurditta, the Gurus eldest son, as his successor to head the Udasi sect. The tap Asthan, where the Guru Granth Sahib is seated, is very popular with devotees, especially on amavasya. A major attraction is a two-day fair held in mid-April to celebrate Baisakhi.
